General description of the collection: The Della V. Sunstrom papers contain her enlistment record, pay stubs and vaccination records. The information is in the form of typed notations stating where, by whom, and when she was paid. Included in the records are times when she was off duty for sick leave, vaccination records for typhoid, her assignments of hospitals and special orders. Also noted is her purchase of a life insurance policy payable to her brother, Fred Sunstrom. The last entry states that she had been paid in full which included a $60.00 bonus.

Della V. Sunstrom was a Reserve Nurse (RN), in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) and was called to active duty on 5 January 1918 and sworn in 10 January 1918. Her first assignment was with the Camp Hospital at Douglas, Arizona. She served there until October 1918 when she was transferred to the Base Hospital, Camp Jackson, South Carolina.
